NOTE: I got attacked and threatened by some Amanda Palmer "fans" after I posted this article. I didn't know she had any fans. I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually her, pretending to have fans. She is a really awful person and I will blame her for everything that happened to Neil Gaiman!
It's very difficult for me to remain neutral when discussing Amanda Palmer. I absolutely despise Ms. Palmer. I used to think that maybe I was the only one who hated her, but then other people told me that they also hated her, so I don't feel so bad about calling her out. She doesn't seem to have very many friends (or fans) and that's because of the very negative and bad energy that she gives off. I can't find one redeeming quality about her. She's truly a horrible person. And she is THE problem.
I didn't even know who Ms. Palmer was until Mr. Gaiman first start dating her. When I first saw her, I instantly didn't like her. I felt like she was just trying to get into Mr. Gaiman's life so that she could use his fame and money to get a career for herself. I was also upset that he married her. If I could've stopped that marriage from ever happening, trust me, I would've done it! And, now, after everything's that happened to him, I think Mr. Gaiman probably would've liked for me to have stopped the marriage too!
I noticed that Mr. Gaiman's creative output started to decline once Ms. Palmer appeared in his life. I'm telling you, she's a real-life Dementor! I think she messed up his creativity. Then, she made the stupidest suggestion ever and, sadly, Mr. Gaiman went along with it. You probably know where I'm going with this. The open marriage. That was a disaster and I could see it coming from a million miles away. Over the years, I've come to know several couples who tried an open marriage. Every single one of those open marriages failed. Open marriages DO NOT work! Well, things ended up exactly the same for Mr. Gaiman and Ms. Palmer. The open marriage didn't work and they got divorced.
Mr. Gaiman did some things in this open marriage that does upset me. He had sexual encounters with fans. I really, really, really, really hated that Mr. Gaiman did that. That's the one thing that Mr. Gaiman did that I cannot support, that I cannot ignore, and that I cannot explain away. It was awful that he did that. He crossed the line between celebrity and fan. It's in direct violation of my own ethics. I have a very strict no private encounters with fans rule. I absolutely refuse to meet with fans outside of my scheduled public appearances. This rule ensures that I am protected from toxic fans, psychos, and false accusations! I wish more celebrities would use my rule! And I really wish Mr. Gaiman would've used my rule! When you meet with a fan privately, you're putting yourself in a really bad situation. Look what happened to Mr. Gaiman. The accusers decided they would make an example out of Mr. Gaiman and they made up all sorts of false accusations about him. Thankfully, Mr. Gaiman has receipts that prove his innocence. But, now he's got to be dragged through court for a frivolous lawsuit.
Ms. Palmer encouraged Mr. Gaiman to engage in that horrible behavior. She also had sexual encounters with fans, so she thought it was okay to have her (now ex) husband do the same. What an idiot! She opened Pandora's box and managed to get Mr. Gaiman into a really bad situation. This is why I say she's the problem. She wanted to do something stupid like this and she dragged Mr. Gaiman into this stupidity! I will never forgive Ms. Palmer for ruining Mr. Gaiman's life. I hope that I can help restore and clear Mr. Gaiman's reputation and name after this nonsense and stupidity from Ms. Palmer.
