Still a fan.

This was the first article I wrote for this site. I received many death threats and rape threats as result!  That just made me want to support Neil Gaiman even more. So, their threats didn't work! And there's nothing they can do about it. I'm always going to be a fan of Mr. Gaiman.

A long time fan.

I've been a fan of Neil Gaiman since the early 1990s. I don't remember which year exactly it was that I first read The Sandman. It was either 1992 or 1993. That's a long time! 

What happened?

Mr. Gaiman was accused of some really horrible things. I will not repeat them here, because we now know these accusations are completely false. When I first saw the allegations in June 2024, I (along with many other people) was quite shocked and disturbed! Could these allegations be true? Mr. Gaiman has always been such a nice guy, who stood for all the right things. 

Most people turned on Mr. Gaiman. They didn't even give him a chance to explain anything or present any evidence to prove his innocence. They just decided he was guilty and they called for him to be put in jail (and even worse!). I was quite disgusted by the reaction of these so-called "fans." Because I've been a fan of Mr. Gaiman for so long and nothing like this had ever been said about him in the past, I decided that I would do my own "investigation." No, I'm not a cop or a detective or anything like that. I'm just somebody who wants to know the truth. And in my quest for the truth, I've found some rather interesting things.

Investigation time.

The very first thing I noticed that there wasn't one piece of evidence from the accusers. They went on a podcast and said a bunch of stuff. That isn't evidence. Words on a podcast would never hold up in court as evidence against the accused. Of course, these so-called "fans" lack any critical thinking skills, so they decided to act like rabid dogs and attack Mr. Gaiman because some accusers said a bunch of stuff on a podcast. 

The second thing I noticed was that these accusers started making up allegations against Mr. Gaiman just as his (second) ex-wife Amanda Palmer was having a bad time in court. Could Ms. Palmer be orchestrating this from behind the scenes? Did she put these women up to making false accusations? It's just too coincidental. She is about to lose very badly in court against Mr. Gaiman and then all of a sudden, these false accusations come up. 

If Mr. Gaiman was truly this horrible monster, then why haven't we heard any accusations from a long time ago? Mr. Gaiman has been in the industry for over 40 years. You just don't become a monster overnight. You're always a monster. So, wouldn't someone from back in the 1980s or 1990s have noticed that Mr. Gaiman was this horrible person? Here's another thing. Tori Amos has been very close friends with Mr. Gaiman for over 30 years. Don't you think that Ms. Amos would have noticed that Mr. Gaiman was a horrible person? Don't you think she would've said something a long time ago? Perhaps Mr. Gaiman is an excellent actor with the most superb acting skills and he was able to fool all of us this entire time. So, not only is Mr. Gaiman an excellent writer, he's an even better actor. That just doesn't make any sense. It's very difficult to hide being a monster, especially for that long. So, no, Mr. Gaiman was never a monster!

What I found.

There's a few things that I believe led to the false accusations. It might seem silly, but I like to be very detailed. I will examine everything in my quest for the truth and to clear Mr. Gaiman's name. 

First, the very obvious one. Mr. Gaiman is Jewish. Could anti-semitism be at play here? Mr. Gaiman has mentioned in the past that he's experienced anti-semitism. There's a lot of hate in the world. Could someone be purposely trying to hurt Mr. Gaiman because he's Jewish? 

Second, Mr. Gaiman is autistic. Well, this is what Mr. Gaiman mentioned a while ago. I don't know if he is, since I don't diagnose people. For the purposes of my investigation, I will say that Mr. Gaiman is autistic. Over the years, I've come to known many autistic folks. All of them have trouble with communication, even the ones that can speak very well. Mr. Gaiman has mentioned that he has issues in identifying social clues. I do find this to be the case and Mr. Gaiman is not lying about this. Non-verbal communication is very difficult for the autistic folks I know. They don't understand any social clues or any type of body language. It looks like this was the case with Mr. Gaiman. He might have not known something was wrong, unless it was explicitly communicated to him. I believe that communication with Mr. Gaiman has to be very direct and very explicit. 

Third, Mr. Gaiman is very famous and very rich. These accusers knew that. It wouldn't be surprising to find out that they were trying to get money from him. Perhaps they even blackmailed him. They didn't get what they wanted from him and they decided that they would make these false accusations. Unfortunately, this happens more than you realize. 

Fourth, Mr. Gaiman has very kinky sexual preferences. These accusers weren't into the same things as him. They should've told him that they weren't into kinky things. If that didn't work because of his difficulties in communication, then they should've left him. Instead, they kept doing the things that they didn't like. Why would someone do that? Why would someone keep doing the things they don't like and not say something? Or just walk away? Again, I think this is related to the point above that they hoped they could get money from him by falsely accusing him of horrible things. 

Now what?

I'm not Mr. Gaiman and I'm not an attorney, so I don't know what's next for him. However, I really hope that Mr. Gaiman sues these accusers. They've lied, defamed him, libeled him, and slandered him. They've ruined his reputation. They're trying to ruin his life. They are the true monsters here. I will do what I can to clear Mr. Gaiman's name. But, I'm just a nobody in our industry. I don't have any power.
