Toxic "fans."

NOTE

When I first posted this, I was attacked relentlessly and threatened by these toxic "fans." They were very angry that I called them out on their behavior. All they did was prove my point that they're toxic and they're psychos

NOT real fans.

The former "fans" of Neil Gaiman are extremely toxic. In fact, even when they were "fans" they were still toxic. For the sake of this article, I'm going to refer to them as "fans" in quotation marks, because a true fan of Neil Gaiman wouldn't act like them.

These former "fans" are like rabid dogs. They refuse to listen to reason. When someone says they're still a fan (like myself) or are neutral, these psychos attack the person for not believing the false accusations. When you point out that facts (there are NO criminal charges, there is NO evidence from the accusers, Mr. Gaiman has evidence they're lying) they go into their default mode (perhaps their only mode) of attack, threaten, and whine. It's quite obnoxious.

They put him on a pedestal.

This is not just a problem limited to Mr. Gaiman. I see a lot of toxic "fans" do this with many celebrities. They put these celebrities on a pedestal, and then when something bad comes out about that celebrity, they act like complete psychos and they threaten the celebrity, the celebrity's family, friends, and supporters. Celebrities are human. They are flawed and make mistakes. You should not be idolizing a celebrity over people who are in your life - like your family and your friends. There will always be something that a celebrity says or does that will upset someone. When you put these celebrities on a pedestal so high into the heavens, feelings are going to get hurt when the celebrity doesn't turn out to be perfect.

That's the case with Mr. Gaiman. Mr. Gaiman is human. He's not a deity. He makes mistakes and he is the first to tell you that. He's not perfect and he is the first to tell you that. You put Mr. Gaiman on this extremely high pedestal and now you're trying to knock him off it because you chose to believe lies about him. You worshipped him as some sort of deity, but he's a man who has flaws. That's extremely toxic behavior from "fans." I absolutely hate when "fans" act like this. And, trust me, the celebrities hate it too!

They can't listen to his voice.

One of these psychos complained that she can no longer listen to Mr. Gaiman's voice without breaking down and crying. And, no, she's not one of the accusers, believe it or not. She was once a really big "fan" who now thinks Mr. Gaiman is a horrible monster. She's traumatized by hearing his voice. That's got to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Someone that you don't know and have never interacted with should not be having that kind of influence on your life. Mr. Gaiman is not a part of your family. Mr. Gaiman is not in your circle of friends. He's a celebrity. He should have no impact on your life whatsoever. But, if simply hearing Mr. Gaiman's voice makes you "break down and cry," then you should delete any file that contains his voice. If you have audiobooks with him reading the books, then delete the audiobooks. This isn't rocket science. You can't stand hearing his voice anymore, then get rid of the files/books that has his voice on them. Wow! What a brand new and innovative concept!

They want to burn his books.

Some of these toxic and psycho "fans" said that they were going to destroy and burn Mr. Gaiman's books. I realize these people are complete idiots, but maybe I can talk some sense into them. You paid money for Mr. Gaiman's books. You're not going to hurt him financially by burning his books. He's already been paid for those books. However, you WILL hurt YOURSELF financially by burning his books. You paid money and made an investment. So, now, you're going to destroy your investment like an idiot. Also, burning books is not the powerful statement that you think it is. It actually makes you look really bad. Time for a quick history lesson. Do you know who used to burn books? That's right, the Nazis did. You do realize that Mr. Gaiman is Jewish, right? So, burning the books of a Jewish man only makes you look like a Nazi. Is that what you were going for - to look like a stupid Nazi?

I try to make the psychos and idiots look better.

I really don't like these psycho and toxic "fans," especially since they've personally attacked and threatened me. However, I'll be the bigger person and I'll try to help them. I will offer them free advice! What?! Me be nice to these idiots?! Yes, I guess you can say that I'm taking the high road!

What to do with his books?

If you are truly disgusted by Mr. Gaiman and you want to get rid of the books, here's some things you can do that won't make you look like a Nazi. You can find a Little Free Library in your neighborhood and put the books in the box. If there's no Little Free Library in your area, then you can donate the books to a public library. If for some reason you have neither a Little Free Library nor a public library in your area, then you could donate them to Goodwill. If you don't want to/don't like to donate, then I have an idea just for you. You could try to get back some of your investment and sell the books on your preferred selling platform (like eBay or Amazon, or one of the million other selling platforms out there). There are so many ways that you can get rid of your books without looking like a psycho Nazi idiot.

Don't make stupid posts on social media.

Social media is public. Well, mostly public. I'm well aware that some social media sites can have some limited privacy options. For the purpose of this article, let's just say that all the posts these idiots make are public. Everyone (and that includes Mr. Gaiman) can see the stupid things you post. So, when you make threats towards Mr. Gaiman (and his family), you can get in a lot of trouble. Mr. Gaiman could also decide to take you to court and then you'll owe HIM money. And I really wish he would. You just don't know how badly I want him to sue every one of these idiots! Maybe being sued would shut them up!

Stop interacting with things to do with him.

If you're truly angry and upset at Mr. Gaiman, then stop reading articles about him. Stop watching videos about him. Stop going to his site. And, just as important, stop going to this site! If you really hate someone that much, wouldn't you try to avoid anything that's about that person? Why keep making your "blood pressure go up"? Why keep having a "breakdown"? Why keep being "traumatized"? This is why you former "fans" look so very stupid. You hate Mr. Gaiman, so stop interacting with stuff that is about him. And leave the rest of us alone! And stop sending death threats to Mr. Gaiman and me. You aren't accomplishing anything except looking like a fool.
